About NGCT 2019

NGCT Society and UPES Dehradun are committed to Quality Education and Research in India and abroad. Overwhelming success of previous editions of NGCT Conferences, NGCT Society and UPES announces 5th International Conference on Next Generation Computing Technologies, (NGCT-2019). Objectives of NGCT-2019 will focus on experimental, theoretical and application aspects of innovations in Computational Intelligence. This Conference aims to create a community of researchers, scholars and experts from academia and industry working on Computational Intelligence and its applications in Informatics, Imaging and Machine Vision, Language Technology, Smart Applications and E-commerce, Networking and High Performance Computing domain and share most recent and latest research findings. Authors across the globe are invited to submit their research proposal/papers which are not simultaneously under consideration with any other journal or conference.

Conference Theme: Computational Intelligence and Sustainability

In the mid-1900s, Alan Turing gave much thought to this question. He believed that machines could be created that would mimic the processes of the human brain. More than sixty years later his statements are still visionary and motivating researches to make the computer intelligent.

Computational Intelligence(CI) is a subfield of Artificial Intelligence(AI) and an adaptive mechanism that exhibit an ability to learn or adapt to new situations, to generalize, abstract, discover and associate. Computational Intelligence has five main paradigms, namely artificial neural networks (ANN), evolutionary computation (EC), swarm intelligence (SI), artificial immune systems (AIS), and fuzzy systems (FS). These CI paradigms have been applied successfully to solve complex problem in the field of Robotics, Speech Analysis, Medical Science, Automobiles, Recommendations, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision and many more. Advancement in the computational power and the availability of data; ignited the Computation Intelligence research field.

With spirit of multidisciplinary applications of Computational Intelligence and quest for innovative and promising research contributions, theme of NGCT’2019 has been decided to Computational Intelligence.

About UPES

University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) was established in the year 2003 through UPES Act, 2003 of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand. School of Computer Science (SoCS), is an academy-industry alliance between UPES and IBM India aimed at developing a dynamic platform for next generation students to acquire high end IT education at graduation level.

SoCS introduces and trains the students with Information Technology platform skills essential for the IT professionals. Information Technology plays a crucial role in the functioning of any organization. SoCSE offers well designed and specialized programs that provides appropriate skills and helps in becoming a competent IT professional. These programs are expected to add to the inclination of the recruiters towards the students, ready and aligned with the skills required for the IT industry.

The School provides the students with a sophisticated learning environment, equipped with all essential learning tools and facilities. About The Institution of Engineers (India)

The Institution of Engineers (India) or IEI is the largest multidisciplinary professional body that encompasses 15 engineering disciplines and gives engineers a global platform for sharing professional interest. IEI has membership strength of above 0.8 million. Established in 1920, with its headquarter at 8 Gokhale Road, Kolkata-700020, IEI has served the engineering fraternity close to a century. During this period of time, IEI has been inextricably linked with the history of modern-day engineering. In 1935, IEI was incorporated by Royal Charter and remains the only professional body in India which has been accorded this honour. About Uttarakhand State Centre The Institution of Engineers (India), Uttarakhand State Centre was established in the year 2003 and presently operates from its own building near Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT). Approximate 2300 Corporate Members are attached to this centre. The Institution of Engineers (India), Uttarakhand State Centre has been actively organizing seminars, workshops and thought leadership activities post the catastrophic flash flood disaster of 2013 and recommending engineering solution for rehabilitation. In this regard a Disaster Awareness & Management Cell (DAMC) was setup and inaugurated by the President of IEI on 9th August, 2014. A Building Material Testing Lab has also been setup and inaugurated by Hon,ble Chief Minister of Uttarakhand on 2nd May ,2015. Green Energy Cell of IEI UKSC was set up in 2015 and is specifically mandated for addressing the issues related to various types of energies, like solar energy, hydropower, wind energy etc. Skill Development Cell, Quality Control Cell and Professional Skill Development Cell are also functioning in the State Centre.

Rajan E. G.

Prof. Dr. E. G. Rajan, B.Sc., D.M.I.T., M.E., PhD, FIE is the Founder President of the Pentagram Research Centre (P) Ltd., Hyderabad, India. He is an Electronics Engineer and a Professor of Signal Processing having about 30 years of experience in teaching, research and administration. He has a number of publications to his credit. He is a professional member of ACM and he is an editor of the journal of AMSE, Barcelona, Spain. He received his Ph.D degree in Electrical Engineering, (Signal and Image Processing), from Indian Institute of Technology(IIT), Kanpur, U.P., M.E. degree in Applied Electronics, from Madras University, the then famous DMIT in Electronics Engineering from the Madras Institute of Technology, Chromepet, Madras and B.Sc degree in Physics from Madras University. His contribution to the state-of-the-art of Electronic Warfare has been well recognized in the Government and industrial sectors. He was a noted teacher in the department of Electrical Engineering of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He received Distinguished Scientist and Man of the Millennium Award from WhoisWho Bibliographical Records,Cambridge,2000.

Dr. Sudhan Majhi

Associate Professor, IIT Patna, Ph.D, NTU Singapore

Dr. Sudhan Majhi is presently working as an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering. He has obtained his PhD in wireless communications from the school of computer engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. He has also obtained M.Tech. in computer science and data processing(CSDP) from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur (IIT-KGP), India. He was a postdoctoral research fellow at University of Michigan, Dearborn, USA, at Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications, Rennes, France and at Electrical and Electronic Engineering, NTU, Singapore. He is a fellow of Sir Visvesvaraya Young Faculty Research. He is an Editor of IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology Journal and a senior editor of IEEE Communications Letters. He was a visiting faculty more than 10 international universities. He is a keynote speaker for more than 10 international conferences. He has published more than 60 international Papers in journals and conferences in the area of signal processing and wireless communication.

Title: Automatic Modulation Classification by Statistical and Machin Learning Approach

Automatic Modulation Classification (AMC) is carried as an intermediate step between the signal detection and signal demodulation. It has great potential for 5G and automation, where transmitter adaptively change the modulation format and receiver automatically classify the modulation format and demodulate the signal. The AMC can be performed by using statistical and machine learning approach. In this keynote speech, a brief overview of AMC will be provided with their applications in various field. Some basic AMC method for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), multi-input multi-output ( MIMO), and MIMO-OFDM will be given. Mainly, two approaches will be focused. One is based on statistical method where modulation features are extracted by using higher order statistics. The other is machine learning (deep learning) method. Finally, some future research direction will be given in this direction. Introduction to the AMC problem.

Plagiarism policy for NGCT 2019

  • Plagiarism must not be more than 15% in paper.

    4. The certificate will be given to registered participant(s) only.

    By Air

    Jolly Grant Airport is a domestic airport which is situated at a distance of 25 kms from the centre of the city. The nearest International Airport is situated in New Delhi, at a distance of about 235 kms from Dehradun and provides approximately 7 daily flights to Dehradun.

    By Rail

    Dehradun Railway Station is the nearest rail head of the Northern Railways .The railway station is situated at a distance of about 2 kms from the center of the city. Major cities like Delhi, Kolkata, Varanasi, Ujjain and Indore are connected by regular as well as frequent train services from the main city. Regular buses as well as taxi are available right from the railway station.

    By Road

    State owned Uttarakhand Transport provides regular bus service (Deluxe A/C bus , Volvo, and various other categories of buses ) from the main city to all major destinations.

    How to Reach UPES Campus from Dehradun City

    By Taxi/Auto

    After reaching the Airport / Railway Station / Bus Stand , Taxi / Auto will be available 24 Hours. The fare for taxi is approx Rs 1200/- (from Airport) and approx Rs. 500 (from Railway / Bus stand).
